The Aquatics Coordinator will coordinate and supervise the day to day operation of the aquatics department by assisting in
developing, organizing, and maintaining high quality BGCSTL programs and ensure proper pool maintenance. The Aquatics
Coordinator will also provide leadership, instruction and motivation for aquatics staff in accordance with BGCSTL policies and
procedures, as well as provide swim instruction and lifeguarding as necessary. The will create a safe and positive atmosphere which
promotes member safety, engagement and satisfaction. The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons of
the pool facility by maintaining constant surveillance of the members, preventing and responding to emergencies, and maintaining
safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and surrounding areas. In fulfillment of these responsibilities the Aquatics
Coordinator might be called upon to perform water rescue, first aid, and/or CPR.

This position will work with Herbert Hoover BGC -Grand location & Matthew Dickey BGC location.

Age: Minimum age of 18
Experience: 1 year of lifeguarding experience required, 1 year of supervision experience required
Licensing Requirements:
CPR Certified, Current Lifeguard Certification from recognized source of training.
TB Risk Assessment and Examination completed within 30 days of hire.
Annual results of Family Care Safety Registry background screening must be deemed acceptable by the State of Missouri.
Annual results of nationwide background screening must meet barrier crimes standards for organizational membership with Boys
& Girls Clubs or America.
Meets qualifications and ongoing training requirements per state licensing regulations (12 hrs. annually).

Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress
of varying weights.
2. Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time.
3. The employee must possess aquatic skills as well as skills in water rescue, accident prevention techniques, water-safety
procedures, standard first aid, and CPR.
4. Ability to communicate verbally across distances in a noisy environment.
5. The employee may be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Inside weather conditions provides protection
from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes and outside environmental conditions provides no effective
protection from weather.
6. The employee may be subject to sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise
